Review & Giveaway- Ear Check

** This Giveaway is Closed**

earcheckI remember one time, I was about 6 years old, I had fallen asleep in the living room, and when I woke up, I had a searing pain in my left ear. I had no idea what it was, but my mom knew to take me to the doctor immediately. I had my first ear infection… and it wasn’t my last. Thank goodness I didn’t get them often though. I can say this though.. If there had been a product on the market like the Ear Check, my mom would’ve had it. She would’ve known right away that I had an ear infection and probably wouldn’t have been wondering what was hurting me so badly.

Now, as a mom of 3 year old girls, with cold season among us, I know that they don’t blow their noses enough, no matter how much I try to keep them clear. Mommy, Daddy, and both girls just has some pretty decent colds running through us. Once we all started in with sinus issues, I knew ears were not far off. We took all preventative measures we could. Humidifier, raising mattresses a little, etc, but this time, we had another tool. We had the Ear Check.

We used the Ear Check daily to check everyone’s ears. We watched as we hit the Monitor stage, and went back down to Fluid Unlikely… Even right now, as I write this review, I’ve used it to double check my ears since I’m currently very stuffed up and praying it doesn’t turn into something worse…

The product description states that the

EarCheck Middle Ear Monitor is a first-of-its kind, clinically proven and physician-recommended, home- use device that accurately detects middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection. The device helps parents identify when a child might have an ear infection, when it is necessary to seek medical attention and when the fluid is going away or gone.

Anything that works this well is definitely a “Must Have” tool for every parent’s medicine kit!

  1. “The EarCheck® Middle Ear Monitor uses gentle sound waves to accurately and painlessly detect the presence of middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection.” SO its kinda like sonar location LOL.

  2. EarCheck® indicates the likelihood of fluid during time of testing. It is important to keep in mind that middle ear fluid is not always constant and may appear rapidly and then quickly go away. Your doctor is the best source of information about your child’s health. If your child is sick, consult your doctor.

  3. The signs of a middle ear infection can range from mild to severe, but often include the following:

    * Fluid in the middle ear
    * Runny/stuffy nose or cough
    * Irritability
    * Pulling or rubbing the ear (indicating ear pain)
    * Decrease in appetite
    * Fever

  4. I love that it is FDA approved – finally, a way to save a trip to the doctor’s office because he’s acting strange and I think there may be an ear infection!

  5. I learned that the EarCheck can help direct parents when to take their little one to a physician for possible ear infection.

  6. I had no idea any thermometer could actually detect fluid in the ear AND was save to use on childen as young as 6 months old. How amazing.

  7. It has been posted in several magazines and also should not be used with children under 6 mo old.
