When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to try breastfeeding my girls. I really did, but with a breast reduction surgery 5 years prior, I knew that my chances were fairly slim. All I heard my entire pregnancy was that breast milk is best, and that my kids were always going to be sick if I didn’t breastfeed them. I was basically told that if I didn’t breastfeed my girls, I wasn’t doing the best I could do for them.
Well, when the girls were born, and I had no help, no matter how much I plead with the nursing staff, to try and breast feed my girls, it seemed that the chances of me actually breast feeding were pretty slim. I tried for nearly two months, cried through most of it, and finally gave up even with help from my local support groups. I didn’t think I was producing enough, and the stress stopped up anything I could’ve had left. I had to turn to formula whether I wanted to or not.
We tried several brands of formula, going through major gas and spitting up. I tried going from the most expensive formula to the one that actually seemed like it worked best for them. I didn’t realize it would be the least expensive one. What I didn’t know is that it was essentially the same thing as the major brands that were sometimes double the price of this one. It was Parent’s Choice formula, a store brand at Walmart.
Did you know that all infant formulas, regardless of the brand or price, must adhere to the same strict FDA guidelines? There are very little, if any differences in the nutritional values between the different brands. In fact, with the way the economy is right now, many pediatricians are advising parents to switch to a store brand  formula so they can save money! Parents can save up to $600 a year ($1200 if you have twins) by choosing a store brand infant formula.

Good Luck!
Thanks for posting about this contest! I went to the website and they said I can save $683.30 a year, 56.94 a month and $13.09 per can!!! I will be going to wal-mart tonight to look at the cans and get one to try out with my little one, any savings helps!
I am saving $48.33 monthly by using Parents Choice Milk based formula for my infant. Luckily, we were able to use Parents Choice Soy based formula with our first child as well, saving us hundreds overall on formula! What a great product! Our baby actually prefers Parents Choice brand and refuses to eat the Enfamil brand.
I used Parents Choice Milk free formula with my first daughter about 3 years ago and really loved it then, and I will be using it with my second child now. I can’t believe how much i save for pretty much the same type of formula!
The calc said I save 42.11 a month! Glad that my daughter is on Parent Choice and has been her whole life, plus my son used it his whole first year of life also. Imagine all I have saved between the two children! Thanks Parents Choice! Parents Choice is all my Pediatrician recommends!
We used to use Similac Advance. I received a free sample of Parent’s Choice in the mail and my daughter LOVED it and did so well on it. We also checked out the website and realized we could be saving almost $700 in a year’s time on formula!! That is so helpful especially with the economy we need to save wherever we can. We went from spending $24.97 a week on a can of formula to $11.88 at our local Walmart for Parents Choice. It was a great switch. At 12 months old now, we are still using the Parents Choice formula!!
I would save $59.99 per month, Total savings: $719.84, Savings per can: $13.79 by using Parents Choice formula. I’m pregnant and my husband and I are looking for all the ways we can save some money with adding to our family!
I have 9 month old G/B twins that I have been feeding Parents Choice Milk Based Formula . I started them on it at 3 months when I stopped breastfeeding. They are thriving and developing wonderfully, our pediatrician is thrilled with their growth and development thus far. The money we have saved so far on formula,( estimated at $120 a month at least) has been put to good use, it has made buying diapers and such for twins a little more easy. Every penny counts these days.
Many thanks
Allison D.
I am so happy to see how much money I have saved!! I have three children so this helps me allot!! My baby has stomach problems and the formula I was buying at first was ridiculous, especially because we were going through the formula so much the cost every two weeks was about $60.00.. Thank you so much for caring about children and that you want to help parents who have a hard time and cannot afford to buy formula but make too much money to get any kind of assistance!! You guys are AWESOME!!
I started my second child on Enfamil Gentlease… Then when I seen that WalMart also had a Gentle formula, I switched as fast as I could! I am pregnant now, and plan to only use The Parents Choice Gentle formula.
Thank you for providing us with such savings!
Total savings: $563.24
Savings per can: $10.79
I use Parents Choice Soy formula with my 5 month old. My husband and I were planning on using Isomil until we came across Parents Choice. It cut our formula spending in half and it has the same vitamins and nutrients and such. Thanks Parents Choice!
From age 4 months to 12 months I will have saved :
My savings with Parent’s Choice: $54.98 per month
Total savings: $439.87
Savings per can: $12.64
Thats nuts! I’m so glad store brands exist.
When my doctor told me the Parent’s Choice formulas were just as nutritious as the expensive brands, I made the switch immediately. Our son is in excellent health and is extremely bright. He has done really well on the Gentle formula, and we love how much we are saving!!
Your savings with Parent’s Choice: $46.94 per month
Total savings: $844.86
Savings per can: $10.79
Just look at that! In tough economic times, every bit helps.
I used Parent’s choice with my now 2 year old, he did great on it. I am expecting another baby at the end of the month and planning on using this formula again with this baby.
Savings with Parents choice: $56.94 per month
Total savings: $683.30
Savings per can: $13.09
I really like these numbers, especially in this tough economic time.
I am saving 46.94 per month and this actually says I pay 14.88 for my PC but really pay 13.88 at my walmart!! LOVE IT
My daughter has been using Parent’s Choice formula since she was two months old. I knew that it as a great product, but I had no idea that we were saving more than $50 a month! In fact, we love the poduct so much that we buy the larger containers (under the name of Member’s Mark but the same product and the same manufacturing company) at an even greater savings. I would suggest this prodct to anyone who wants to give their baby the very best!
Is member’s mark the exact same thing!! Just sold at Sam’s right?
I have been using Parent’s Choice for 2 months, my 7 months old loves it. We were paying $27.99 for a can of formula and decided to change her when we found out the prices. We are paying $13.48 for Parents choice Gentle-ease and she does a lot better with it than the more expensive brand. We are saving over $60 a month! Anything can help in this economy, especially since my husband is out of work right now!
My husband and I experienced having a lactose intolerant baby girl. We were spending almost 25.00 a container for Similac Sensitive and we found out that Parent’s Choice also had a sensitiive formula. We love it and we have used it with our first baby and it worked great and saved us alot of money. (Babies are expensive.) We plan on using this formula with our baby boy which is scheduled to be born on June 15, 2009.
I was unsuccessful with breastfeeding and refused to pay the high prices of brand name formula. I looked at parent’s choice formula at wal mart and realized it was exactly the same. I have used it since my son was 1 month old( now 10 months old) and I am so thankful it has saved me so much money. My son has not had any problems with it either. I work in labor and delivery and when new mom’s ask me what kind of formula I use I am happy to refer them to parent’s choice since I have been so pleased with it! Now I am expecting another in September and if breastfeeding doesn’t go well again, I will be using parent’s choice again.
I have twins so the savings of almost 60.00 per month times 2 is awesome. I am so glad that there are companies like Parent’s Choice out there that can help the one’s that need it the most in times like this. Thank you Parents Choice.
I started using parent’s choice when I went back to work. I didn’t have time to pump at work, and when I got home I was too exhausted to nurse. I used higher priced brands with my other 2 children and was elated to find parent’s choice with my son. Thanks for the savings!!!
Your savings with Parent’s Choice: $46.42 per month
Total savings: $649.92
Savings per can: $13.34
I am so glad that I found Parent’s Choice. All I heard was how much better it was to breastfeed my whole pregnancy and I planned on doing this for 2 years. Looking back I was obviously insane. I initially started buying Enfamil because this is what my doctor gave me when they insisted breastfeeding wasn’t working when my son was diagnosed with failure to thrive. I breastfed anyway for 11 months doing the best I could. I never seemed to get enough milk and towards the end of the day I would have to feed formula when I had nothing left and my son was complaining. I have guessed I save myself over $700 that first year and I am so fond of all the Parent’s Choice products now.
Thanks so much,
Alysa
I was so surprised and glad when my son’s pediatrician recommended Parent’s Choice formula. It has saved us bunches!
Wow it said I could save 59.99 a month. $718.94 a year and $13.79 a can I can’t believe it. We love to shop at Walmart and Sam’s Club so I think I will look into the parent choice and Member Mark formula it will save us so much money for our DS.
I used Enfamil with my first daughter, and then switched to Parent’s Choice with my 2nd! Man, I cannot believe the savings! Who would have guessed??? We are now expecting our 3rd and will definitely be using Parent’s Choice again!
We use Parents Choice and its the only think our baby can handle! Every time we switch to Enfamil he gets a bad tummy ache so we decided to stick with Parents Choice!
I love parents choice formula, we used it with our second baby as a suppliment to breastfeeding. Once he got 12 months we started using the parents choice stage 2 and love it also. Thank goodness for the savings on this wonderful product.
My son has lactose intolerance and soy protein allergy, so the only formula he can use is the Sensitive/lactose free. When we found out about his allergies, we tried the lactose free types that the name brands offered and he flat out refused to drink any of them. We finally tried Parent’s Choice and never looked back!
Wow I learned I can save around 60 bucks a month.. That’s awesome and leaves more money for me to sneak in a pedicure or something to feel good while being a mommy! Thanks 🙂
I really thought I “had” to have the name brand formula to get the “best” for my baby. But then after a little research, the Parents Choice is exactly the same and soooo much cheaper! I can’t believe it. I am so thrilled to have found this website and the savings calculator. Without it, I may never have researched Parent’s Choice. Savings of almost $600! That is so absolutely amazing and wonderful. Thank you Parent’s Choice!
I am extatic to see what I save on the Parent’s Choice formula versus the Similac formula. I learned i can save $56.94 per month/683.30 per year!!!! I can put that money saved in my daughter’s college fund!!!!! I am a new stay at home mom and every savings helps tremendously. I will definitely let all of my friends with little ones know so they can save that much too!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
I already use Parents Choice formula and I know how much money I am saving. My son loves it and I love the price tag!!

I used the baby formula savings calculator and discovered I would save $59.99 per month using Parent’s Choice formula! That is awesome!
I love Parents Choice the savings in unreal. My boy is healthy and growing like a weed!!!
Wow! As a mother of twin boys I am shocked – I can save $683.30 per child each year – that’s $1,366.60 a year just by using Parent’s Choice Milk Infant Formula instead of Similac Advance. This savings calculator is so easy to use – it took less than 10 seconds to calculate the savings. Thank you Walmart!
No kidding – we have twins too and realized we can save $114 a month by switching to Parent’s Choice instead of Similac. What a great tool! I am sure more parents will switch in this economy – go Walmart!
Using this great tool I discovered I can save $719.84 a year for my son’s formula by using the Parent’s Choice brand versus Enfamil Lipil milk baby formula. Unbelievable savings!! And what a great resource when it comes to finding ways to save. The FDA regulates the minimum and maximum amount of every nutrient in all baby formulas, so why not save if you can. I recommend this to all new parents!!! Your banks accounts will love you.

My son is 9 months, and nothing worked for him BUT the parents choice gentle formula.
We are saving 351.00 a year! Thats so awesome!
Noticed that there are not too many Dads around here but have to say this calculator has made me a big time Parent’s Choice fan. My wife has been talking to me about it for a while and in our regular end of the month financial “meeting” (a fun sign of the marriage times!), she showed me this calculator. Let me just say that anything that can tell me I can save up to $700 a year while doing the right thing for my child’s health is an absolute no brainer. Off to Wal Mart we go.
I had no luck breastfeeding and used the premade formula that the hospital gave me. I continued to buy it after I got home from the hospital and was at Walmart one day and saw Parent’s Choice. I wasn’t sure so I figured I’d buy a can and if it didn’t work then I would just stay on the Enfamil. My son did much better on Parent’s Choice. He had a lot less gas and constipation and you can’t beat the cost. It has saved us about $55/month and $612/year, according to the calculator. Can’t ask for better savings considering the economy. Thanks Parent’s Choice!
My husband and I adopted so we have to formula feed. Our savings over EnfamilLipil is $59.99 a month! Wow that can’t be beat!
