Our dishwasher gets a lot of use, here in the MommyBrain household. With our family of 4, there’s no telling what we’ll be using at any given moment. We also cook most of our meals at home, so you know there’s a few dishes involved with that! One problem we do have is caked on, dried on foods, and even soapy spots all over our drinking glasses. That drives me batty! We have tried a few different solutions, and sometimes we get really good results, and others we get not so good results. When we were asked to try the new Finish Power and Free, we figured, why not?
According to it’s description, Finish Power and Free is 2X better chemical residue protection Vs detergent alone. Finish Power & Free detergents feature Hydrogen peroxide action and power away the toughest food messes. The detergents contain no Chlorine bleach, and use less fragrances and dyes versus base Finish products. Now we’ve used Finish Dishwasher tablets almost exclusively for several months now, and have had good results, so this should only make them better, right?!? Here’s what we found.
We filled up the dishwasher, full… In it, we had dishes with varying levels of food on them. Some had dried on oatmeal, and others had freshly finished dinner scrapings. We figured we’d check it out. We also put some of our drinking glasses in that had been used with orange juice.. with lots of pulp… We use the normal setting on the dishwasher… So, how did it turn out?
Here is the glass that had the dried on orange juice pulp:
Held up to the light, you can see that it came clean! Nothing stuck to it, which is pretty darn cool. Our dried on oatmeal on the bowl mostly came off. There were a couple of little pieces that I was able to scrape off, and the rest of the dishes looked great! Everything looked sparkly clean.
Finish Power and Clean is new to Walmart and is only $5.97. It’s currently available in stores and on Walmart.com.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
