Family movie night is one of our favorite nights. We clear the calendar of any meetings, or classes, and bring home a pizza or two from Walmart, so we don’t have to wonder what’s for dinner. We grab some drinks, and popcorn and hang out at home, snuggled up on the couch watching a movie or two depending on how late we feel like staying awake.
Movie night isn’t always about watching the latest releases though. Many times, we like to watch some of the girls’ old favorites, or even older favorites from when hubby and I were younger. When we can’t find them online, we like to check out the $5 Bargain DVD Bin at our local Walmart Store! We’ve found some really awesome movies that we had long forgotten before. Once in a while, we’ll find a somewhat recent movie that we missed in theater, or forgot to grab when it originally came out on DVD/BluRay. Waiting a little bit of time really pays off so instead of paying $20-$30 for a movie, I get it for just $5!
This past week, I ran out to see what movies I could find for our next couple of family movie nights… I found a few movies for the whole family to enjoy, and one that was really just for the girls…. but… SCORE! 4 movies for only $20! We love the minions from “Despicable Me”, and I had no idea that they had a couple of DVD “shorts” out there! These will be great for a laugh! My girls love Monster High, and I found one that I don’t think they already have, and I have been wanting to watch “Soul Surfer” for some time now. The girls bought the biography a while back, so this should be pretty good.
When the girls got home from school, they were very excited to see what movies I found! We agreed that since the next week was Spring Break, we’d have more than one movie night! I mean… Why not?!?!
If you’re looking for an affordable way to spend family time together, this is a great idea! I mean, where else can you watch a movie, get a meal, drinks and popcorn for less than $30? Certainly not at the movie theater!!! Plus, there’s a pause button if someone has to run to the restroom or grab another snack in the kitchen!!!
Head on out to your local Walmart store and dig through the $5 DVD bin when you get a chance! You might be surprised what you find in there!
