I got the opportunity to try out the new products, but since there aren’t any weddings happening that I know of… or engagements, I chose to customize a card as a “Save the Date” card for my girls’ birthday…
I chose one that had a lot of places to customize, and most importantly, one that didn’t say “getting married” on it….
Customization was fairly easy. There are little boxes that show up on the card, indicating where you can edit the text.
It really only took me a few minutes to create a card from start to finish, both front and back…. Now, I won’t post a pic of the back because that’s where my information is…. but I can tell you that this particular card had a couple of options for the back… Either chalkboard print, full page text, or inserting any photo of my choice… I used the text option to put the party info on it.
Before I completed my order, it gave me a window in which I could verify all of my text on the card before submitting the order for print. I really liked how the card turned up on here. Now it was just a matter of waiting for the cards to arrive!
When they arrived, I was a bit disappointed… All of my custom text seemed to be missing…. except upon further inspection, I found it all to be itty bitty and hiding in the top corner!
I immediately called the number located on the website, and spoke with a customer service agent named Lily who was absolutely amazing. She looked up my order and saw the mistake, notified her tech team, located the digital proof that I approved, and had everything reprinted and sent to me within a matter of a couple of days… This time… they were perfect! The cards I chose were the basic, Signature Smooth paper, and they are a matte finish. I really love how they turned out.
After speaking more in depth with Lily over at Walmart Stationery, I learned that while they currently are focusing on engagement/wedding announcements, etc, they are working with their designers and will soon be branching out to more events, like birthday parties, etc. I also learned that if someone really wants to order a card that has un-editable words on it that don’t fit their event, with a quick phone call, Walmart Stationery can work with them to fully customize that particular card to fit their needs. Now THAT’S customer service!
