It’s here! It’s finally here! One of the most anticipated films is finally out on DVD & Blu-Ray as of today, April 5, 2016!
Yes! I’m talking about Star Wars: The Force Awakens! It’s the 1st in a series of sequels to the original trilogy… showing what has happened in the future between the Light Side and the Dark Side….
I was actually sent the movie BEFORE it was released and had the chance to throw a little in-home viewing party of my own! We invited a few friends over, and had a bit of fun with it all!
I went over to my local Walmart Store to check out what cool things I could find. Just for fun, I went over to the birthday party section and found these great Plates, Napkins, Cups, Decorations, and much more, all for some great prices!
Of course, we checked out all the cool Star Wars toys, and other items in our store as well! We didn’t get anything from here, but there were some really neat things there if you need a gift for a Star Wars fan!
Once we returned home, it was time to decorate and prepare the food!
My girls really got into the spirit and were taking charge of getting decorations up. I think they did a really good job!
Of course, we picked up some popcorn so we could make it on the stove, and have enough for everyone… but for some quick snacks, we baked cupcakes and topped them with some cake candies shaped like Vader and Yoda!
I put my girls to work as well! They washed and picked grapes off the stems, and them put them on skewers so we had Light Side and Dark Side light sabers. These were actually one of the most popular things we had out to snack on!
Just for fun, we picked up some cookie dough and I cut the sugar cookies into star shapes and sprinkled them with yellow crystals.
Just as all the food was pretty much completed, our guests started arriving! Perfect timing!
It was time to get the movie started!
Don’t laugh… This was actually my very first Star Wars movie… well, the first one I’ve sat through and watched from beginning to end. I’ve never been into it, but this movie actually made me want to see the rest of them. I sense a movie marathon coming up soon.
