Electrolux & Kelly Ripa raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research

lemonadeBefore we moved, we sold off our refrigerator. It had given us 5 years of work, keeping everything cold, and frozen. We just decided that it would be best to save the shipping weight and get a new one on the other side. Well, the house we moved into has a refrigerator, but it seems so small, and I miss my stainless steel. Besides, it’s a side by side, and I hate how small the sides are. I would LOVE to have a new fridge with the freezer in a bottom drawer…

Thanks to MomCentral, I found out that Electrolux will soon unveil their new French Door Refrigerator, along with Kelly Ripa and a Virtual Lemonade Stand campaign on electroluxappliances.com that will help raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. What is pretty neat is that everyone who logs on to the site and participates in the campaign will be automatically entered for a chance to win a new Electrolux French Door Refrigerator. For every virtual lemonade stand that is opened, Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Tweet about it, and add it to your facebook page, and encourage your friends and family to buy and send some virtual lemonade! 100% of the proceeds go to the cause! You can check out my Virtual Lemonade Stand, and buy some lemonade while you’re there!

This new refrigerator is part of Electrolux’s full line of stylish appliances, featuring sleek designs and top-of-the-line performance. The French Door Refrigerator is loaded with unique features that make it ideal for entertaining at a moment’s notice.

Ok, so I totally need to enter that contest. Chances of me actually winning are probably pretty slim, but, at least I’ll be able to learn even more about their new Refrigerator while helping raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research.

Oh, and you can also check out MomCentral, and enter to win one of these refrigerators there too! They’ll be giving one away soon as well…. so stay tuned!

  1. Monica,
Thanks for making me aware of this! I’m excited to see more resources directed towards what used to be called “The silent killer”. And there’s no standard screening test that women receive to detect ovarian cancer in it’s early stages, and it’s symptoms are easily masked as other things, like gas or indigestion. By the time it’s picked up on, things are often dire.

I saw it for myself this time last year, when my great mother in law was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer. We were very fortunate that through surgery and aggressive chemotherapy injected directly into her abdomen (to really wash all those cancer cells) she is now cancer free and on maintenance chemo. She is also a breast cancer survivor (15 years ago) and, like all breast cancer survivors with certain aggressive gene combinations, was FOUR TIMES more likely to get ovarian or uterine cancer. That would have been an awesome thing for a doctor to tell her at some point.

Thanks for helping to bring this to the forefront, and if I win the fridge? Bonus.:)
