So, I’ve been working on losing weight, and getting healthier. I’ve been working out, and eating better… Yes, I am human and have occasionally had slip ups.. but for the most part, we’ve changed a lot of our habits. We’re eating more whole grains, and less fats. We’ve cut out a lot of our red meats, and have brought a lot of fish into our diet. We have removed all sodas from the house, and we have removed just about all of our junk food from the house..
I think the biggest thing is that I’m working on being a good role model for the girls. I want them to learn how to eat correctly. I don’t mind them eating snacks, but I don’t want them to eat bad snacks. They’ve started actually CHOOSING apples and bananas, and carrots as snacks! It makes me so happy that they’re eating those things instead of chips or cookies, etc.
Now, I’ve started losing some weight, and I’m looking forward to losing even more. It just seems that sometimes I lose my steam.. I lose my motivation. I wish I could keep going. I know I have accountability… but It just gets so disappointing when I don’t lose weight fast enough. I know it’s a long road. I mean, it didn’t take me 6 months to put all of this weight on… so it most certainly is going to take longer to lose all of this weight. I just have to keep going, and get rid of it.. for my health, and so I can be here for my girls…
I’m hoping that by the end of 2010, you’ll be seeing a whole lot “less” of me!

As not only a mom, but a therapist, I know motivation is key and you have that! What’s even better is that you have internal motivations….being a role model for your kids and family and feeling good about yourself.
When you feel like you are losing steam, tap into those motivations! Those are what will keep you truckin’ on!

Go, mama, go! Love that your girlies are going for the healthy stuff. Mine do at times, but I still get the “cheesy chips” request all the time. Stick with it – you sound like you are doing great. And congrats on taking the big step to apply!
