Ok, so I’m a few days behind… So lets get a few ideas down here. Here are some quick and easy tips for saving the Earth!!

16: Use reusable shopping bags! You don’t need to keep taking home plastic bags. Most of them end up in the trash one way or another right? Buy a few good sized bags, and keep them in the car. REMEMBER to put them back in the car when you finish unloading them, or put them with your purse or near the door so you don’t forget them. Check with your store, but sometimes you get a discount for bringing in your own bags. Other stores enter you in a raffle each time you bring in your own bags. They’re typically very inexpensive if you buy the branded ones from your store. Or you can get designer ones from various online specialty stores… Not sure what to do with all of your old plastic grocery bags? Many stores have a recycle station.. or if you’re crafty, you can crochet your own reusable bag!

15. Shop for items with packaging that’s better for the environment. Apple is big on this. Their Magic Mouse and even the new Apple remote come in something just large enough to protect the device… Oh, and did I mention.. The packaging is recyclable? I love it! It’s sleek, it’s sexy.. and it’s good for the Earth… Apple’s computers are even pretty recyclable. Most are made with aluminum and glass making them pretty darn easy to recycle when you’re ready to upgrade.

14. Re-use items for fun crafts with the kids! Use a juice carton to make a bird feeder, Corks to make a sail boat, Milk jugs to make planters, toothbrushes into bracelets, and paper out of.. um.. paper… Show kids how much fun it is to re-use, and explain the difference between Re-using and Recycling!!!
