Author and mother of twins, Susan Heim sent me her book, It’s Twins, Parent-To-Parent Advice from Infancy Through Adolescence to review, and let me tell you, I just wish I had heard of this book when I was pregnant with my little princesses. This book is full of awesome tips and ideas for getting through the years with your twins. 

Within each age group, 0-1, 2-4, 5-11 & 12-17, every section is split up into several parts. You’ll have the subject matter, a Twins Tale, some Points to Ponder, Twins Tips, Twins Trivia and even some Intriguing Twins.

The Twins Tales are real life stories written by the parents of multiples. They tell the tales of the challenges, the joys and all of the in betweens that go along with being a mommy or daddy of multiples. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will (if you are also a parent of mulitples) know EXACTLY what they are talking about!

Points to Ponder are questions based on the section you just read, that help you to record the special moments and memories you have as you go through life with your multiples. They are excellent for helping to remember things for their baby books, or journals!

Twins Tips are little bits of advice. Short, sweet and to the point. 

Twins Trivia are little bits of information to help you in your quest as a mythbuster in training. With these bits of trivia, you’ll learn to tell the difference between the facts and the fiction of twin parenthood. 

Intriguing Twins are profiles of some very inspirational twins! Share these stories with your multiples and encourage them to work hard for their goals, and of course, be proud of being a twin. 

At this point, my favorite section is the 2-4 year old section. I’m reading it intently, especially the part about potty training. I’m deep in to potty training the girls right now, and much of what I’ve tried hasn’t worked. This book actually gave me some other ideas to try out! I’m so excited about reading into the future ages to know what I should expect!! 

It’s Twins! Is definitely a perfect book for any expecting, new or even experienced parent of multiples! It’s also helped me to realize that I’m not alone in this madness known as twin parenting! I share in many similar joys and frustrations that are common in families with multiples! It’s also great knowing what someone else has attempted, when it comes to raising their multiples.
