Imagine if you could play some of your favorite songs like a pro, without ever having to learn how to play an instrument. Imagine seeing a huge smile on a child’s face who loves music and can play their favorite song, simply by waving their hand and wiggling their fingers. Well, I got to do both of those
The Beamz Interactive Music Player is a pretty cool way to play some favorite songs, and you don’t have to pay for expensive music lessons. How do you play it? Well, hook it up to any Windows PC, load the Beamz Software and choose a song from the selection of over 2 dozen songs that are already loaded on the software. The Beamz uses lasers in it’s “W” shaped unit and you play by breaking the laser beams with your hands. Each laser beam is assigned a different musical instrument or sound, making various sounds as you wiggle your fingers through them.
I let my girls play with it, and although they weren’t on with the songs, they had a lot of fun just playing the various beams and seeing how they made music. I’m sure there’s a huge potential for something like Beamz in schools too. I can just imagine the look on a child’s face as they play music by wiggling their fingers in the air.
