No, I don’t mean today, as in what my day has been like… it’s been busy though, thank you for asking. I’m talking about a new and totally cool event and task management application for Mac OS X Leopard called Today. My husband, who is always on the lookout for cool gadgets for me, sent me a link to check it out, and check it out I did..
As a mother of 3yo twins that have a bunch of playdates, a few doctor’s appointments, and a Mommy Blogger that needs to know when certain reviews are due, and when a giveaway is supposed to run I’m always looking for a way to keep track of my posts and giveaway dates. This program is perfect for keeping things streamlined, and in perfect order for me. It’s basically a one stop, at-a-glance window that lets me see my appointments and tasks for any day.
Another reason I like it, is that it syncs with iCal, and thus with my iPhone. I can create new events or tasks with just the push of a button on Today, and it automatically adds it to my iCal so I can sync it to my phone. I don’t have to open iCal to create anything. Now, if I was looking at a task or event on Today, and needed to edit it, or wanted more information, I can double click on the item in Today, and it will open up in iCal.
There are quite a few settings that you can use to make it more user friendly. You can change the transparency on the window. It’s neat because when I don’t want it to be standing out so much, I can sort of hide it, but keep it there so I can see what is coming up for the rest of the day. Tasks can be hidden, or you can show today’s tasks, or the tasks for 3, 7, 14, or 30 days in advance!
I looked around at the support for this product, and I was really amazed at how well the developers responded to the customer’s questions and suggestions! It looks like there is great potential for this product to grow! I saw that they were even considering making an iPhone app that runs directly on the iPhone to keep track of your events.
You can download the free 10 day trial and check it out for yourself! I’ll bet that you’ll get hooked like me, and want to buy it… It’s totally affordable at $15.
Check it out! .. and thanks Hubby! I’m so glad you sent me this link!
