I first got to see the Esio while on my last trip to Bentonville with the Walmart Moms. I didn’t get a chance to try it out, but I was interested in learning more about it. When the chance came up to actually try one, I jumped at it.
At first I was a little bit skeptical. It seems like this is turning into the age of single serving machines. We already have, and love, our single serve coffee maker, but this is a little bit different. Could this actually save us money, time, or anything? We were definitely up for the challenge to try it out.
Seeing the Esio machine for the first time, it certainly calls your attention. It’s large, and it’s yet another appliance to take up a significant amount of your counter space. If you’re going for the minimalist look in your kitchen, this is not the machine for you.We cleared up a portion of our counter, and found a spot that it would be ok in.
Setup is easy. Plug it in, and fill it up with water. The Esio machine can hold almost 2 gallons of water in it’s tanks, so it’s ready to make both hot or cold drinks at any time. Just lift the lid up off of the top and fill with filtered water. The Esio machine has two reservoirs. One for hot and one for cold. Water is kept heated and refrigerated so with just a push of a button, or two buttons for hot, you can dispense your drink of choice at the temperature you want. The Esio machine even tells you when it’s time to refill your water reservoirs to keep everything ready for the next person.
There’s a large selection of drink flavors currently available at your local Walmart stores. From Coffee and tea to V8 Splash and Country Time Lemonade, there’s something everyone is sure to like. The drink flavorings come in a resealable pouch. Simply open the door, pop in the pouch with the vacuum sealed dispenser in it’s proper positioning, and push the button. That’s it! It’s easy enough that the kids can get their own drinks… which also might be a bad thing… hahaha. If one person wants lemonade, and the other wants grape juice, there’s no worry. Each pouch automatically seals itself, so nothing spills out. Just replace the pouch with the new flavoring, and set aside the previous one. It couldn’t be any easier.
The price for the drink flavorings vary, but we’ve found them in the $5-$7 range, depending on what it is. The Esio Machine is currently available for $199. All of these are available now at your local Walmart stores, or at Walmart.com.
We haven’t noticed a jump in our electric bill from the Esio machine keeping things hot or cold, and we are, so far, pleased with the cost effectiveness of the drink pouches, as opposed to buying the bottles from the juice aisle. The kids LOVE that there is an Apple & Eve Grape Juice, while my hubby really likes the V8 Splash berry juice. I personally love the fact that I can use it for hot water to make a quick cup of tea. I even use the hot water to pre-heat my girls’ thermos jars when making them lunch for school. It works out amazingly!
I think the Esio would make a great addition to any home, especially with the holidays being here. People will be coming over, and it’s nice to be able to offer a large variety of drink choices, without having to store a bunch of juice bottles somewhere. The Esio would also make a great gift! Check it out!
