I was recently given the opportunity to check out a product called Trash Dash. It’s an odor neutralizing product that helps eliminate odors from home trash receptacles for fresher and extended use of garbage bags. All you have to do is shake Trash Dash’s odor absorbing powder two or three times daily into any trash bag to neutralize smells and add a fresh scent to trash receptacles or recycling containers in between pick-ups. Trash Dash absorbs the odors that might otherwise attract pesky critters to containers set outdoors for trash removal.
The unique sodium bicarbonate-based product quickly captures and obliterates foul odors that lurk in home trash receptacles, and leaves behind a pleasant scent of Citrus Burst or Lavender Vanilla without killing bacteria necessary for natural trash decomposition.
Not only does Trash Dash offer a new way to maintain pleasant interior air quality, it also allows consumers to fill their expensive garbage bags to capacity without the worry of lingering trash odors in the home.
So, we actually used this product both indoors and outside in our large collection can. Yes, we did. We had a major refrigerator clean out, and the trash STUNK! We went from indoor can straight to outdoor can once we were all done emptying, and I sprinkled some Trash Dash into the outdoor can in hopes of neutralizing some of the odors. It actually worked! I’m not saying that it smelled pleasant after sitting for 2 days before trash pickup, but it wasn’t the horrendous stink that it could/should have been after sitting in the warm weather for that long.
Indoors, I’d sprinkle a little bit in the fresh garbage bag, and to save a little, I sprinkled our trash bag just morning and night. It kept trash odors to a minimum, and instead of having to take it out every night, we were able to take it out every other night. Of course, if we had something especially smelly, like fish skin, or something like that, we’d sprinkle some Trash Dash in, and take it out anyhow. BUT, we were able to curb the outside can smell a bit as well.
Trash Dash is a great product to have around all the time, but especially during the holidays! With friends and family visiting, lots of food, and lots of smelly trash, Trash Dash is perfect to curb those nasty smells and keep your home smelling fresher and cleaner in between emptying the garbage can! Trash Dash can be purchased online at www.trash-dash.com or you can also find it at your local mass retailer (Walmart, FYI) nationwide on the garbage bag aisle shelves!
