International Women’s Day is today, and to support women around the world, Walmart launched Empowering Women Together, a site that gives shoppers who want to buy unique and interesting products the opportunity to do so while supporting small women-owned businesses around the world. Empowering Women Together will offer shoppers more than 200 items from 19 businesses in nine countries. Products vary from jewelry, accessories, home décor, specialty foods and apparel from various countries including Ethiopia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Kenya, Peru, Canada, Haiti, Nepal and the United States. With each purchase, consumers empower the women behind these products by creating new jobs and improving both their lives and the lives of their families and communities.
