First, let me apologize for the blurriness of the photos. To make things easier, I had my girls taking the pics while I was making their wraps, but you’ll get the idea…
Beach towel wraps are awesome! They make things so much easier when you’re setting up or cleaning up and want to just stay covered up, and they are super easy to make! Here’s how we made two of them in less than 30 minutes!
All you need:
A beach towel of your choice
Scissors
Heat n’ Bond
Elastic Cord
Large button
Needle and Thread
How to make it:
1. Measure around your child, or yourself, and gauge how tight you need it. This can be wrapped around the torso, or just around the waist.
2. Fold over and cut along the fold to make the towel the needed length.
3. Iron on the Heat n’ Bond, following the directions on the packaging. Fold over the raw edge of the towel and secure to the Heat n’ Bond with the iron.
4. Cut a length of the Elastic Cord to form a loop, and sew onto the edge of the towel. For extra strength, we took three strands and braided them together, then made the loop.
5. Try on the towel again, and make note of where the button needs to be placed in order to secure the towel with the loop.
6. Sew on the button in the desired location.
7. Cover up and head to the beach/pool!!!!
This took us no more than 30 minutes to make two of them from start to finish, and my girls love them! The towels are just long enough to cover up completely, and just shot enough to wear around their waist if they want.
We were given a gift card to purchase all of our supplies at our local Walmart store, and we made these Beach Towel wraps for just under $8 a piece.
Check out our pics below! and again, please excuse our blurriness!!!
wow! I LOVE the idea! It’s so cute and fashionable! 😀
