Every year, about this time, I start to have some really mixed emotions. You see, I have this sort of love/dislike relationship with shopping for Back to School clothes for my girls. I love it, because it’s so much fun to see what’s in style for the new school year, but I really dislike it because it reminds me how fast my girls are growing! Nonetheless, it needs to be done, and they always have fun shopping for new clothes, and showing off their fashion sense at school.
Walmart has some really cute apparel coming out for the 2013 Back to School season! Tons of really cute layering tops, lots of bright neon colors, and all the character apparel you can stand… possibly more. From Superman & Avengers to Hello Kitty and One Direction, yes, Walmart has a huge selection of favorite characters for the kids to choose from.
For this article, Walmart gave me $50 to get some things for my girls, and see how much/what cool apparel items I could get. I was actually able to get quite a few things! This year, my kids were totally drawn towards the bright neon colors. I love it though, because it really brightens them up. They totally wanted to do a little fashion show for you to show off some of their new threads…
We are still quite warm, weather-wise when we go back to school, so the shorts and tank tops actually do dual duty as Back to School and End of School clothes here. Some places will have warmer clothes in their stores based on how their weather is at this time of year… but no matter where you are, there are a few staple items you need to have for Back To School.. Some great tops. A basic T-shirt is great for wearing alone, or with other layers… A few good pairs of jeans are essential. Jeans are good year round, and you want to make sure you have enough to last. Good athletic shoes are also a must. You can wear them with just about any outfit, and you will need them for PE class. Don’t skimp. Get some good ones that will last through the craziest playground games of tag. You know I’m going to say it… New Socks and Underwear is also a must. We go through ours every year about this time, and toss out anything that doesn’t fit, lost elastic, or just looks icky. It’s a great time to do it, and with all the sales coming up, you’ll save some good money too!
