You’ve seen the DS, the DSi, and the DS Lite. You’ve even see the 3DS and the 3DS XL… But, have you seen the new 2DS gaming system from Nintendo? It came out just this year, and it’s pretty cool for the little kids.
What is the 2DS? It’s just like the other ones, except, there’s no hinge, and you can not play games in 3D.
Why get the new Nintendo 2DS? Well, there was some concern in years past about the effects of the 3D on children’s eyes. It was recommended that children under the age of 6, not use 3D mode because their eyes are still in developmental stages. They were concerned that the 3D mode would have a negative effect on the development on little one’s eyes. They did also say that users of all ages could succumb to the perils of 3D experience. Since the 3DS creates the illusion of 3D without the need for glasses, it can add extra eye strain, causing users to feel sick or nauseous after extended use. The 2DS is their answer to allowing players the ability to play all of the newest game titles, and not have to worry about the potential health risks!

We received one to play with, but we were able to bless another, younger child with it. My girls had just bought the 3DS XL’s and they didn’t need to keep the 2DS.
