If you’re always on the go like I am, you can go for hours before you realize that you forgot breakfast, or lunch… Sudden hunger strikes with a gurgle in your tummy, and you try to think back to what you ate most recently. I like to keep something quick and easy in my purse for just such moments, but it has to be something that I won’t feel guilty about eating.
I was asked to try out the new Balance Bar Dark Bars and let you know what I think about them. So, the Balance Bar Dark Bars are packed with nutritious protein and fiber, are certified Gluten Free and are made with 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa. They say that each dark chocolate bar is a good way to get the 40-30-30 nutrition and lasting energy you need. Let’s see..
First thing I do, since I’m on Weight Watchers, is check the points and see if and where it could fit into my meal plans. Does it work as a snack? Or are the points as many as a small meal? The two flavors of bars that I purchased ended up being Dark Chocolate Crunch and Dark Chocolate Peanut. I checked out the nutrition information, and it’s actually pretty good. They are 5 points on the Weight Watchers Points Plus scale. They are both pretty tasty. Even my girls like it.
While I haven’t noticed any extra energy, these are pretty good for a quick fix. I’ve been known to get so busy running errands, or working at my girls’ school, that I forget to eat breakfast, or lunch. Keeping these in my purse will be a good way to keep me from reaching for the bad for me snack foods.
A box of 6 bars costs about $5.36 at your local Walmart stores!
Give them a try! I’d love to know what you think about them!
